Terms of Service

Last updated: July 3, 2026

The short version: Presetsmith builds preset files for your Helix device from a text description. It's free at launch, within a daily limit. The presets you make are yours to use. Always test a preset before you rely on it live. Be cool — don't try to break or abuse the Service.

1. Who we are

Presetsmith (the “Service”) is operated by Livio Filipazzi, trading as Aura Music Lab, Málaga, Spain (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. What the Service does

Presetsmith generates .hlx preset files for Line 6 Helix and HX Stomp devices from a plain-language description you provide. The presets are a starting point for your own tone — results depend on your guitar, pickups, output setup and device.

3. Your account and eligibility

4. Free tier and tokens

At launch the Service is free, within a daily allowance of tokens that refills each day. Generating a preset, an effect or a refinement spends a set number of tokens. We may change the allowance, token costs, or introduce paid features in the future. We'll aim to give reasonable notice of significant changes, but we don't guarantee the free tier will remain available indefinitely.

5. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

6. The presets you create

The preset files you generate are yours to use freely, including for personal and commercial music. You grant us a limited licence to process the descriptions you submit only as needed to operate and improve the Service. You're responsible for how you use the presets on your own equipment.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, its preset database, the “Presetsmith” name and its branding — belongs to us / Aura Music Lab. These Terms don't give you any rights to it beyond using the Service as intended.

8. Third-party trademarks and no affiliation

Line 6, Helix, HX Stomp and HX Edit are trademarks of their respective owners. Presetsmith is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Line 6 or Yamaha. Artist and song names are used only to describe the kind of tone a preset aims for; no association or endorsement is implied.

The .hlx file format is used by Line 6 hardware to store preset configurations. Presetsmith generates standard .hlx files compatible with this format for interoperability with hardware you already own; it does not use or distribute any proprietary Line 6 software, firmware, or internal documentation. Our preset-generation model is built from publicly shared, user-created preset data.

9. No warranties

The Service and the presets are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee a specific tonal result, suitability for a particular song or rig, or that a preset will load or behave a certain way on your device. Always test a preset before relying on it in a live or critical setting.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms or the Service over time; the “Last updated” date will reflect changes. We may suspend or end access for accounts that breach these Terms. You can stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Spanish law, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
